A short 10 minute drive from town brings you up the grade, to the Upper Ojai Valley and a distinctly more rural experience.Big Rock Retreat sits on 1.82 stunning flat acres with views of both the Topa Topa mountain and Santa Paula Peak- that’s two pink moments at once! A perfect place to unplug and unwind. A true retreat.You will enjoy the views from your sofa and chairs on the rear terrace boarded by a large lawn and huge oaks. Just be prepared to share this space with “the rock”! Relax in the outdoor hot tub or out by the fire pit on those starry nights. In addition to oaks, the drought resistant landscape includes fruit trees and a variety of other trees irrigated by an on-site well.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bath (with separate tub & shower) home was totally upgraded in 2006. It sleeps 5 (2 king beds with the option of one king being turned into 2 twin beds. (Must give at least one weeks notice for twin beds.)
Living room has a additional sofa bed. Central air and heat is available for your use, as is a gas stove for the gourmet cook in you. An open-plan Great Room houses the living room, kitchen and dining areas.

At the entrance of the country road is a neighborhood market, so supplies are close at hand. There is a bicycle on hand to run and grab a bottle of wine. The 2 minute drive up the road shared by the other homes leads to a trail-head that borders Sisar Creek. So be prepared for a hike and slip into the sparkling natural rock pools of the creek along the way!

At night the stars and the hoots of the owls will lull you to sleep, and the rising sun over the mountains in the morning will confirm that you’ve made the right choice by choosing Big Rock Retreat for a truly unique experience.
